IMU Sensor for Robots

While there are lots of IMU sensors on the market, most are not ideal for robots. Typical IMU sensors will have a large drift and will need post processing fusion algorithm such as kalman filters to get an accurate reading. These algorithms need to run at high frequency.

Chip Robotics' IMU sensor uses the BNO080 module with propriety sensor fusion algorithms to give accurate heading and acceleration data for your robot or automated guided vehicle. This sensor is stable with no drift when the robot is stationary and outputs accurate heading information while moving the robot with very low drift. The sensor has an easy to use UART / USB API and a ROS driver. Check the video below to visualize the sensor movement on ROS.
